From Southern California, Susan Michaels is a teacher of traditional American dancing, especially contra and square dancing. She has called and taught dances at local evenings, weekend workshops, and week-long camps throughout the U.S. and Canada. More Info: Susan Michaels web site

Based in Los Angeles, the Syncopaths bring a fresh, contemporary spin to music and songs rooted in the Scottish, Irish, and American folk traditions. Evolving beyond their contra dance origins, they are creating a "chamber folk" sound characterized by the compelling, rhythmic interplay of fiddle and mandolin, rich vocals, and unexpected colors and rhythms from the piano and bodhran. The exuberant joy they derive from the music and each other is palpable and contagious.

Also, world famous pianist Jacqueline Schwab will participate in a workshop on Saturday afternoon.
She has provided some of the music for many of the Ken Burns PBS TV specials like the Civil War, etc.

Cost Entire Weekend:
Adults (13 and up, not Student): $90
Students Jr High and up: $45
Children 12 and under: $35
CDSS Members: $5 discount
Early Registration: $10 discount (before midnight March 31)

Partial attendance:
Adults: Friday Night = $20, Sat Day (includes lunch) = $30, Sat Night = $20, Sun (includes brunch) = $20
Children 12 and under and Students Jr High and up = half price.

Family Plan: Pay for the 4 oldest persons, and the rest are free!
Registration

ÿ--晬Ưxx Pre-registration is only used for the entire weekend. If you come only to one or more individual sessions, just pay at the door.
Pre-Registration for the entire weekend is not required, but is appreciated.
Pre-Registration deadline is midnight Sunday April 10. Only pre-registrants will have custom name tags.
We have very special name tags this year, and you will want one!
There are two ways to register:
Use the ONLINE Registration Page    OR    Print, fill out, and send the PDF Registration Form. --> Pre-Registration is now closed. Pre-Registration is NOT required to attend the event.
Walk-ins who pay at the door are welcome to attend any/all of the weekend.

Refunds:  Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Requests must be made in writing and can be sent or emailed to the registrar (see below) or to NTTDS at wids@nttds.org or PO Box 820203, Dallas, TX 75382.

Special Activities

The theme for the Friday Night dance is Wild Wild WIDS. All you cowboys and cowgirls dress up in you best western wear.

We will have a skirt swap/sale. Feel free to bring skirts you no longer need or want to donate to the sale, and bring some cash to purchase ones that want to go home with you.

There will *NOT* be a Silent Auction, but there will be something similar. Bring some cash to spend on a few nice prizes.

Chair massage will be available for a fee from 11:45 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday.
