Based in Dallas, Texas, NTTDS promotes understanding and appreciation of American folk dancing, its music, its history, and related folklore. We are a group affiliate of the Country Dance and Song Society.

Cis Hinkle has delighted contra and square dancers since 1985 with her skilled teaching, welcoming manner, playful enthusiasm, and masterful selection of dances. She is in great demand at music and dance festivals all over the US, England, and Denmark. When not on the road, Cis teaches T'ai Chi classes in her native Atlanta, Georgia.

Coracree melds a transatlantic mix of traditional Celtic, Old Time, European and Original music with a playful, improvisational style. Equally at home on the concert stage or in the dance hall, they delight audiences with driving instrumentals, sweet harmonies and unexpected surprises. All members of the band are prolific tune and songwriters, giving their repertoire a distinctly fresh sound.

Cost Entire Weekend:
Adults (13 and up, not Student): $90
Students Jr High and up: $45
Children 12 and under: $35
CDSS Members: $5 discount
Early Registration: $10 discount (before April 1)

Partial attendance:
Adults: Friday Night = $20, Sat Day (includes lunch) = $30, Sat Night = $20, Sun (includes brunch) = $20
Children 12 and under and Students Jr High and up = half price.
Registration

Pre-Registration is now closed. Pre-Registration is NOT required to attend the event.
Walk-ins who pay at the door are welcome to attend any/all of the weekend.

Refunds:  Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Requests must be made in writing and can be sent or emailed to the registrar (see below) or to NTTDS at wids@nttds.org or PO Box 820203, Dallas, TX 75382.

Special Activities

This is our 25th WIDS weekend! To celebrate this Silver anniversary, everyone is encouraged to wear something SILVER at the Saturday Night dance.

We will have a skirt swap/sale. Feel free to bring skirts you no longer need or want to donate to the sale, and bring some cash to purchase ones that want to go home with you.

There will *NOT* be a Silent Auction, but there will be something similar. Bring some cash to spend on a few nice prizes.

Karizmah Dance Shoes will have a booth selling dance shoes on Friday and Saturday. Bring some money to buy new shoes.

NTTDS is an affiliate of CDSS. We are participating in the CDDS Passport To Joy Centennial celebration. You CDSS members be sure to bring your passport, and we'll add a sticker to it.

Friday April 17
 7:00 pm -  8:00 pm: Registration
 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm: Contra Dance with Cis Hinkle and Coracree
11:00 pm -  1:00 am: Party at Sokol Hall

Saturday April 18 (all contra sessions feature Cis Hinkle and Coracree)
 9:00 am -  9:30 am: Light breakfast
 9:30 am - 9:50 am: Tai Chi and Stretching, led by Cis
10:00 am - 10:30 am: Waltzes and other couple dance tunes written and performed
          by Coracree (no teaching)
10:45 am - 12:00 pm: Go With the Flow: Smooth, flowing dances, with some pointers
          on how to use music and momentum to make the most of them
12:00 pm -  1:30 pm: Lunch provided by NTTDS chefs
 1:30 pm -   2:45 pm: Snappy Squares of the Nifty 50's: In the 1950's, just before Elvis,
           square dancing was all the rage. Come find out why!
 3:00 pm -   4:15 pm: Mindbenders: For those who want a little more spice in their dancing,
           let's try some tricky moves, unexpected twists, and challenging timing
 4:15 pm -   4:30 pm: Waltzing toward Supper with Coracree
 4:30 pm -   8:00 pm: Supper, on your own
 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm: Contra Dance
 11:00 pm -  ??? am: Party as Sokol Hall

Sunday April 19
10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Fabulous Brunch
12:00 pm -  2:00 pm: Contra dance with pickup band and local callers
 2:00 pm:  Fond farewells and clean-up
